THE EDUCATIONAL CENTRE CEU SAN PABLO RELIES ON UDA 16
CEU San Pablo?s Sevilla College is one of the main centre of the San Pablo?s Andalucia CEU Fundation, located in Bormujos. In this place, this College has different rooms where celebrate some meetings and acts.
Audiovisual Studio, in charge of the design of this acoustic project, considered UDA 16 the best audio equipment for the requirements of
this installation. One of the most important points to take under consideration was the features of the room, and all
the architectural design, that obviously required clarity and power in the deepest part of the room, where the audience needs maximum intelligibility of the speech.
Also another crucial point in the acoustic design was the reverberation problem: reflections of the sound created by themain walls, ceiling and floor of the room. Taking into account this sound problems, Audiovisual Studio chose the uniform dispersion array column UDA 16, composed of 16 high quality transducers disposed in array configuration, which works with specific filters, creates an audio beam that recreates a maximum coverage in the audience with less reflections, and therefore, less reverberation. UDA 16 is able to double the coverage of the audience in a better directional way, avoiding loss level and improving the quality of sound.
One of the main advantages of UDA 16 is the possibility to reduce the level of the reverberation and echoes. Like the design of this array configuration is thin, this column is able to create an audio beam just focused on the audience, the sound pressure level only decreases 3dB, instead of 6dB like a normal speaker, reducing acoustical problems and maximizing the level of the sound.
High directivity from the UDA 16
In the CEU of San Pablo Sevilla's centre meeting room, have been installed four UDA 16: two in both sides of the stage to keep all the audience under the sound signal with the maximum clarity and intelligibility.
Also in the equipment, it was used a set of four subwoofers WPL A BASS built-in the wall to provide the best bandwidth.
